Fans can’t get over Drake playing Fortnite with streamer Ninja

You used to call me on your cell phone, late night when you need my gun (skills).

Drake stans lost it a bit today after he revealed he was playing Fortnite with the most popular streamer on Twitch, Ninja. The duo managed to smash the record for concurrent viewers, reaching the 500k mark at around 1AM this morning and repeatedly crossing the 600,000 barrier.

Fortnite is a free-to-download sandbox game known for its “Battle Royale” mode, which allows up to 100 person PvP (player versus player) shootouts.

Ninja himself has over 3 million followers and 160,000 paid subscribers, whilst earning an estimated income of several hundred thousand dollars a month. A month! Not bad for playing video games and having blue hair.

Drake is Drake. Obviously this was going to be crazy popular, even before the duo were joined by rapper Travis Scott and NFL wide receiver and owner of possibly the greatest name ever, JuJu Smith-Schuster. What a team. What a superb collection of talent. #squadgoals.

The previous record for concurrent viewers was 388,000, previously held by someone named Dr Disrespect, who, obviously, has been utterly disrespected by being completely blown out of the water. 388,000 views? Pathetic.

“And that’s why I need one match, got the controlpad in my hand, one more time before I go ” – Drake, probably.
