West Ham lost 3-0 at home to Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

The result, however, was not the main talking point by the time the full-time whistle was blown.

Following Ashley Barnes’ opening goal for the visitors – scored with little over 20 minutes remaining at the London Stadium – many West Ham supporters left their seats and gathered around the directors’ box to protest against the club’s owners.

While this was taking place, other supporters made their way on to the field. One fan grabbing a corner flag; another being confronted by an angry Mark Noble.

Footage circulating on social media has now shown how West Ham supporters turned on two of the pitch invaders as they made their way back into the crowd.

As the video below shows, West Ham fans can be heard making their disapproval known to the pair as they climb back over advertising hoardings and begin climbing a flight of stairs. This increases and it soon becomes clear that one man is chasing after one of the pitch invaders, causing him to stumble.

Continuing on his way, the footage later appears to show other supporters throwing punches at one of the men, before other fans attempt to intervene.

A day many West Ham fans will wish to forget quickly.
