Argeș Pitești manager Emil Săndoi was dismissed by the match referee for tackling AFC Chindia Târgoviște forward Cristian Neguț as he tried to gain possession in front of the Argeș Pitești bench.

Săndoi immediately apologised for his actions but was still sent to the stands for what was an inexcusable act.

In other sports former New York Jets strength coach Sal Alosi was suspended without pay for the 2010 NFL season and fined an additional $25,000 by the team for tripping Miami Dolphins player Nolan Carroll during a pre-season game.

The Jets, who decided on the punishment after consulting with the NFL office, considered termination as a possible option.
