Know anyone with a sweet left foot?

Port Vale are holding a ‘Left-Footer Talent Identification Day’ in the hope of adding some talented youngsters to their academy.

The League Two side is on the lookout for left-sided youth players and are giving prospects the opportunity to show what they can do with their left peg at a special recruitment day next month.

Roughly 20 per cent of the world’s population is left-footed and Port Vale must be right-heavy because they are encouraging youngsters with some finesse on their left to send their name, age, school year, address, contact number, height, weight, position, attributes and playing history to lee.foyle@port-vale.co.uk to apply for the session.

The advertisement on the club’s website reads: “Whatever the reasons, there is something special about left-footed players and Port Vale Academy are looking to recruit more talented left-footed players who could potentially be the next Anthony Gardner, Steve Guppy or Lionel Messi.

“Port Vale are holding a ‘Left-Footer Talent Identification Day’ on Wednesday 17th April 2019 during the Easter half term break 10.00am-12.00pm.

“Our ‘Left-Footer Talent Identification Day’ is free to register, which is aimed at naturally left-footed players between the ages of 7-14 who believe they have the ability or potential to play in Academy football.”
