Gini Wijnaldum drops his phone off Liverpool tour bus, fans hand it back up

‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ has always been a danger for mobile phones

Liverpool had an open-top bus tour through the city on Sunday to celebrate a sixth Champions League title after their 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

As you can imagine, the club’s supporters were out lining the streets in great numbers, singing and cheering their heroes on as the bus moved ever so slowly through the city.

Judging by these incredible photographs of the celebrations, and this video of Jurgen Klopp almost tumbling off the bus, it was quite the day.

Even for the Liverpool players themselves, it seems, as this next clip proves.

It shows beloved Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum jumping along and singing his heart out to ‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ before dropping his phone off the top deck of the bus, all captured live on his Instagram story.

Fortunately for the Dutch international, the phone doesn’t appear to suffer much damage and the Liverpool fans are quick to hand it back up to their hero – who looks visibly delighted when he gets it, shouting “IT’S STILL WORKING!” whilst Virgil van Dijk just laughs in the background.

Show us a more adorable video of a footballer. We’ll wait.
