SI are looking for full time Football Manager testers
All those wasted hours getting Port Vale to the Europa League final can now go on your CV
Every so often, you hear about managerless football clubs receiving applications from members of the public whose only experience is hours and hours of Football Manager. Obviously, they never get anywhere near the job (though it would be wonderful if someone did give it to one of them once, and they had a fairytale When Saturday Comes triumph).
But here is a role where your FM achievements are worthy of a place on your resume, as Sports Interactive is looking for full-time Football Manager QA testers.
The job description reads:
Are you a devoted player & lover of Football Manager or can you bring an objectivity to deliver excellence to Football Manager? We’d love you to join the team and help us make our games the best they can be!
As a QA Tester at Sports Interactive you’ll do more than just play the game. You will be assessing new and existing features, evaluating data, providing valuable feedback on gameplay and balance, offering support to our users; and much more.
It’s a varied and rewarding role that requires a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.
Of course, this isn't just sitting around in your pants at home trying to win La Liga with Valladolid. It is actually rigorously testing the game, finding bugs and glitches, and making sure every feature works as it should. By all accounts, game testing is a gruelling occupation, but it is a step into the competitive industry.
According to the job description, previous experience in Q is "not necessary", though "a strong familiarity with Football Manager titles and a deep knowledge of football is expected".
Applications for the four-month fixed-term contract close on Sunday, June 2nd, so you need to be pretty quick. You can apply here.
