Arsene Wenger gives an update on the future of Alexis Sanchez

The latest on Alexis.

Arsenal’s pre-match preparation for their match against Bournemouth was overshadowed by the news that Alexis Sanchez did not travel with them to the Vitality Stadium.

It’s clear that his departure could come sooner rather than later, but with Man City and Man Utd interested, Wenger was asked about his wantaway attacker.

The Mirror have reported that United are leading the race for Sanchez and that they’re prepared to pay the Chilean a staggering £350,000 per week. This being said, Wenger said that the former Udinese and Barcelona attacker still hasn’t made up his mind about his immediate future.

“His situation is not decided one way or the other so I left him at home,” he said.

Prior to the match against Bournemouth, Sky Sports conducted an interview with Wenger and the Arsenal manager was asked if the Arsenal fans can accurately say that his decision to drop the Chilean is to finally get a resolution to the situation, one way or another – he leaves or stays.

Wenger said: “Yes. Don’t read too much into it though because not even I know which way it will go.”

Wenger then said that he hopes the situation is quickly resolved.

“Exactly (I want it resolved). You want to focus on the players that are on the pitch and can do well for the club.”

When asked if Sanchez had a preferred destination, the Arsenal manager said that he has no idea if the Chilean prefers a move to Man City or Man Utd.

Take a look.
