WATCH: Antonio Conte shows the restraint of a saint after being handed signed Man Utd jersey by “journalist”

Top marks for composure

Top marks for composure.

On the sideline Antonio Conte is one of the more animated coaches in the Premier League. Watch him closely and you’ll see a man who reacts as angrily to an incorrect throw-in call as most people do to being put on hold by their energy provider for the TENTH F*#KING TIME!

He is an Italian, possesses a fiery personality and is not shy about speaking his mind whenever the mood takes him.

As such, it was surprising to see him act quite as coolly as he did when approached by a journalist during his Chelsea press conference today.

Addressing the press at the club’s Cobham training ground, Conte was approached by what appeared to be an Italian journalist holding a tablet and a jersey.

The man, who is said to be a prankster of some kind, plays a video on the tablet in which people can be heard chanting the names of both Conte and Jose Mourinho.

Weird enough, sure, but Conte remained relaxed and even let out a little giggle. What followed was the moment in which Conte showed the sort of resolve usually only seen in Buddhist monks who have attained the highest state of mindfulness.

Placing the tablet down, the journalist/prankster unfurls a Manchester United jersey reportedly signed by Jose Mourinho and proceeds to hand it to Conte as a gift.

At this stage, the amused look had been replaced by an ashen-faced scowl, and one could tell that it took every last ounce of restraint to stop himself from punching the man in the face, smashing his laptop and, perhaps, giving him a wedgie.

Unfortunately for the blood thirsty public, he didn’t, though the look in Conte’s eye suggests we wouldn’t rule out the prankster getting a visit from a very angry compatriot quite soon.
