The first image of Bugs from the long-awaited sequel to Space Jam has appeared online

Space Jam: A New Legacy sees LeBron James taking the place of Michael Jordan in teaming up with Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes.

And during WarnerMedia’s virtual CCXP panel, we finally got our first look at the redesigned Bugs Bunny in the film. As part of the event, Bugs hosted a short video where he went behind the scenes on the Warner Bros’ lot.

And as you can see, he looks pretty on-model. According to reports, he and the other Looney Tunes have been animated via CGI but made to look like traditional 2D animation, so we are eager to see what that looks like in motion (the new Tom & Jerry trailer does a similar thing and that actually looks pretty great).

Warner Bros. recently announced that all their 2021 movies, including Space Jam: A New Legacy, will go straight to streaming on HBO MAX at the same time they are in cinemas. There is no official word on what will happen in the UK, as HBO Max is only available in the USA, but we expect something similar to happen here.

Space Jam: A New Legacy will be released on July 16th, 2021.

According to early reports, the film revolves around LeBron’s son getting lost in a world populated by all the characters that Warner Bros own, and then LeBron teams up with the Looney Tunes to save them. And then, because this is a Space Jam film, they have to win a game of basketball to get him back, against a team of evil versions of NBA and WNBA stars.

Reports have also suggested amongst the bad guys from the Warner Bros world appearing are The Joker and Pennywise from IT.
