The new megastars being added to the series have got us VERY excited...
Prepare yourselves, because this is about to get complicated.
Ocean's 11 came out in 1960, starring Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr., and it was fundamentally NOT a good movie.
Jump forward to 2001, and this was remade as
Ocean's Eleven, with George Clooney and Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, and it was fundamentally a VERY good movie.
This then led to 2004's
Ocean's Twelve (not good), 2007's
Ocean's Thirteen (better, but not as good as Eleven), and 2018's sorta spin-off, Sandra Bullock-led
Ocean's 8 (decent, but not as good as Eleven or Thirteen).

With us so far? Okay, great.
Despite swirling rumours that we might soon be getting an
Ocean's Fourteen and/or
Ocean's 9, new reports indicate that the next Ocean's movie is going in a very different direction.
According to a released production list by the Film & Television Industry Alliance (as first discovered by
Total Film), the new movie will be a "remake of the original
Ocean's Eleven that is set in Europe in the 1960s starring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie."
The movie is set to be directed by Jay Roach (
Austin Powers,
Meet The Parents), with production set to begin on Monday, 6 March.
That would mean we should be getting the remake of
Ocean's 11 in our cinemas some time in 2024.
Beyond the two leading stars, very little else in known about the new project. But considering this movie will feature Gosling and Robbie pairing up again after
this summer's Barbie movie, we imagine it shouldn't be too difficult to fill the rest of the ranks of their new heist crew with some of the coolest performers in Hollywood.
