Jeff Bridges teases Bigger Lebowski but it’s probably just a Super Bowl ad

The perfect teaser for fans of the whole brevity thing

The perfect teaser for fans of the whole brevity thing

In case it wasn’t clear, we’re big fans of The Big Lebowski at JOE.

So when Jeff Bridges tweeted the following video, it is fair to see that we got very, VERY excited:

Now, some (potentially) bad news.

Chances are this isn’t exactly the first announcement of The Dude returning for The Bigger Lebowski.

Instead, that date – February 3 – is the date of the Superbowl, so it is more likely that there will be a big, expensive ad to be played out during the game that will somehow feature Bridges in the iconic role, kind of like when we all thought we were getting a remake of Crocodile Dundee last year… until we didn’t.

However, for anyone left a little disappointment by that potential outcome, there is still the relatively good news that Going Places is due to hit cinemas in 2019.

Written, directed and starring John Turturro, he’ll be returning as iconic bowler Jesus Quintana, and will be heading off on some new adventures of his own, with Susan Sarandon, Bobby Cannavale, and Pete Davidson in supporting roles.

So while it might not be more of The Dude himself, the Lebowski-verse is still going strong.
