Borat has praised Donald Trump in a spoof video on Twitter.

In the video, he calls Trump the “strongest premier in history” and a “hero of war”.

The video appeared on a Twitter account purporting to be from the Kazakhstani government but believed by many to be viral marketing for the upcoming Borat sequel.

Borat 2, or to give the film its full title, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery Of Prodigious Bribe To American Regime For Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan, is coming to Amazon Prime video on October 23rd.

“He not racist,” Borat says about Trump. “Black guys love him so much they kneel before him.”

“Because of Trump, 350 million Americans still alive,” he continues, referring to the coronavirus pandemic.

The trailer for Borat 2 was released yesterday.

Highlights include him trying to kill COVID with a frying pan and magnifying glass, asking if Harry Potter is a sex criminal and wearing a face mask as a mankini.

It looks like Sacha Baron Cohen will be going undercover as some other characters as well – not least Donald Trump, as we see him crashing a speech by Vice President Mike Pence while dressed as the President.

We also get introduced to Borat’s daughter, and it is all set to a unique cover of Eminem’s ‘Without Me’.

The film was made in secret, with details of the production only slowly starting to creep out ahead of the release.

Deadline reports that Sacha Baron Cohen had to wear a bulletproof vest for two days of shooting, as his undercover filming put him in genuine danger.

Several videos have also been captured of what looks like Cohen filming in character, including him singing a COVID song at a far-right eventand driving down an LA street.
