New Avengers: Endgame posters confirm several fan favourite characters will appear in the movie

Wow, a *lot* of people survived The Snap

In just a few short weeks, a saga that has spanned many, many hours of screentime will finally come to a close, and concludes one of the most shocking cliffhangers in pop culture history.

But enough about the final series of Game of ThronesAvengers: Endgame is finally released at the end of April. The trailers so far have confirmed that Ant-Man and Hawkeye - both absent from Infinity War - will be appearing, and the mid-credit screen from Captain Marvel also showed that Carol Danvers is joining the fight against Thanos.

On Tuesday afternoon, cast members of Avengers: Endgame began tweeting new character posters. And ok, normally posters alone might not be that exciting, especially after we've already had two trailers.

But these character posters, all which include the tagline 'Avenge The Fallen', confirmed that a few fan favourites will definitely be in the movie.

For instance, Tom Hiddleston's Loki, who was seemingly killed in the first reel of Infinity War.

As well as Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, from Thor: Ragnarok.

There are also posters for characters who seemingly perished in The Snap, including Scarlet Witch and Dr Strange.

So we probably did expect a lot of these characters to turn up - no one really expected Thanos' wiping of half the universe to be permanent, especially when it included popular characters like Black Panther and Spider-Man. Plus, time-travel has been long-rumoured to feature in Endgame, meaning that even if, say, Groot, is definitely dead, he can still turn up in a flashback or whatever.

Despite Loki being killed very clearly killed on-screen, along with Idris Elba's Heimdall, Tom Hiddleston has been confirmed to be appearing in a spin-off TV show for forthcoming streaming service, Disney+.

Valkyrie, on the other hand, has not been seen since the third Thor movie, and we're pretty sure no further appearance had been officially confirmed.

Avengers: Endgame is out April 26th.
