Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War, a new Western true crime docudrama series, has just been added to Netflix.
Comprising of six episodes and narrated by legendary actor Ed Harris (Westworld), the doc focuses on Wyatt Earp - the real-life American lawman and gambler in the American West who was involved in the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
The story of Earp has been told in several high profile movies including My Darling Clementine (1946), Wyatt Earp (1994) and perhaps most famously Tombstone (1993).
Kurt Russell played the lawman in the latter, which is currently streaming on Disney+.
The Cowboy War, however, promises to "set aside the scuttlebutt" and, through "vivid reenactments" and talking heads, tell the story of Earp's clash with a band of outlaws known as the Cowboys and how it changed the United States.
The official plot synopsis from Netflix reads:
"The true story of Wyatt Earp, his legendary Vendetta Ride, and how his famed gunfight at the O.K. Corral gained national and international attention that nearly sparked a second Civil War."
With its six episodes ranging from 30 to 50 minutes in length, Wyatt Earp and The Cowboy War is streaming on Netflix right now.
