Victor Anichebe has the last laugh in long-running feud with Game of Thrones stars

We wonder if he's forgiven them...

Tom Victor

Victor Anichebe has waited a long time to return to the heights of his early career.

The former Everton striker burst onto the scene as a teenager, but had hit a bit of a roadblock before returning to form under his former mentor David Moyes at Sunderland.

Anichebe scored twice in the Black Cats’ 3-0 win over Hull City at the Stadium of Darkness Light, his first league double since 2006.

Now, before you read on – and this will sound weird – the rest of this story will contain ‘Game of Thrones’ spoilers. Just wanted to warn you as you can never be too careful.

The Nigerian striker’s resurgence has come just one year after a bizarre run-in with another man who famously came back from the dead (see what we’ve done there?), GoT actor Kit Harington.

Harington, who plays the enigmatic Jon Snow in the drama series, supposedly refused Anichebe an autograph despite the former Toffee being a big fan of Harington and co-star Rose Leslie.

We’ll allow Big Vic to explain.

As it turns out, Jon Snow (spoilers, but come on, you’ve got this far already) went back to being not dead this year, but Anichebe’s career has now had a similar resurgence.

How is a win for Victor Anichebe, hear you ask?

Don’t ask questions.
