Underworld, Foals, John Grant and Savages were our music highlights at the BBC 6Music festival in Bristol (Video)

Underworld were spine-tinglingly good at BBC’s 6Music festival in Bristol.

Frontman Karl Hyde was so nervous, he proclaimed was ‘bricking it’ as he stepped on stage.

He needn’t have been, the electro- house merchants brought the house down with their euphoric set.

‘I Exhale’ induced a mass sing-along at Bristol’s Colston Hall, but Trainspotting anthem ‘Born Slipp.NUXX’ saw the crowd lose their minds.

They hit the road in March on a UK tour, we strongly advise trying to get along.

On Friday night, all-female Anglo-French rock group Savages provided the energy in a blistering set…

Not to be outdone in the head-banging stakes, Rosin Murphy proved she has substance and style by whipping her hair between a couple of costume changes….

Bob Dylan-esque Laura Marling had us mememerised with her set, in particular, ‘Rambling Man’.

On Sunday night, JOE favourite Foals didn’t disappoint. Warming up for their first gig at London’s Wembley Arena this week, they didn’t take any prisoners. Pretty sure it was whisky that frontman Yannis is swigging…good man.

Friends of Foals, Everything Everything got the crowd going with their catchy pop/rock hit ‘Spring/Sun/Winter/Dread’. We don’t want to get older either…

Also on Sunday, John Grant showcased new tunes including ‘Disappointing’, which he was anything but.

And as for Californian dance-punk band Chk Chk Chk, think we’ve told you before but nobody moves in shorts like frontman Nic Offer. Just incredible.
