Tom Hardy’s next movie looks set to be seriously dark

But needless to say, we'll be going to see it.

Now, Hardy looks set to star in 1999 book, My War Gone By, I Miss It So, a movie which is due to be directed by Warrior director Gavin O’Connor, which Hardy also starred in. The book is written by Anthony Lloyd, an English journalist and war correspondent and is Lloyd’s personal account of the Bosnian War. It alternates between the his time in Bosnia and the British Army, as well as his mental health problems, heroin addiction and parents divorce. Lloyd reported during the Bosnian War and witnessed atrocities during his reporting. When he returned home he turned to substance abuse in what turned out to be a harrowing personal battle. "Anthony’s memoir was love at first page — a portrait of war like I’d never read before," director O’Connor told Variety.

"An up-close-and-personal account of a heroin junkie reporting from the front lines of Bosnia — the bloodiest conflict Europe has witnessed since the Second World War — who uses the high of war to kick his drug habit. It’s a book written with both fists. It’s Anthony’s ‘Apocalypse Now.’ I feel privileged and honored for the opportunity to bring the book to the movies."
