‘They need to be the permanent presenters!’
This Morning fans have called on Rylan Clark and Emma Willis to become the permanent hosts after the pair presented the daytime show together.
On Monday, Emma returned to This Morning hosting duties for the first time in five years, alongside regular stand-in Rylan.
Rylan started the show by welcoming The Voice host back to the show, saying: “Hello, good morning, and welcome to a new week on This Morning, and welcome back the one and only Emma Willis.
Emma responded: “It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? We can’t get out of each other’s pockets can we?
“Five years it has been. I was thinking about it the other day and I thought, ‘It’s been a couple of years since I last did it’ – five years!”
“Five years that is quite frightening,” Rylan said as Emma continued: “Five years, we have seen each other a lot since then including Friday night.”
The duo went down a treat with viewers at home who called on ITV bosses to make Rylan and Emma the permanent hosts of This Morning.
One fan wrote: “This Morning is so much better with Emma and Rylan presenting together! They need to be the permanent presenters from now on pls.”
Another said: “Please can we keep Rylan & Emma as permanent hosts full time.”
Someone else echoed the sentiment, saying: “Rylan and Emma feel like the right fit to be the new permanent hosts.”
And a fourth penned: “You can tell Emma and Rylan are genuine friends. Great chemistry. Would love to see them presenting permanently.”
Earlier this year, Holly Willoughby left This Morning after 14 years on the show, prompting speculation about who would take over her hosting duties.
The Sun reported last month that Cat Deeley was being lined up as her replacement, and that Rylan would be joining her to present This Morning.
A source told the publication: “Cat is comfortable interviewing both pop stars and politicians, so if it goes well she could be a much more permanent solution to Holly leaving. She would be a safe captain to steady the ship.”
“Rylan was a resounding success too so fans can expect to see a lot more of him in the future,” they added.
