There are any number of things that can go wrong in the world of live television.
Add the possibility of a dodgy Zoom connection into the mix and you've really got yourself a recipe for disaster.
But that's not what happened to Alison Hammond when she was interviewing Graham Norton on This Morning.
In fact, she probably wishes a bad Zoom line was the worst of her worries.
Speaking to Norton she said: "The last time I saw you, you were with your dog out and about. I've just been told I'm gonna be getting a four-legged friend. Have you still got your dog?"
You probably know where this is going at this point...
Norton replied: "No, eh, dead."
Painful stuff. Take a look, if you can:

In fairness to Hammond, she apologised immediately and Norton didn't seem too heartbroken about it.
All of this happened while Dermot O'Leary winced awkwardly and said "That was always going to one of two ways, wasn't it?"
Poor Alison, and more importantly poor Graham. Our thoughts are with them both at this difficult time.
