Idris Elba is up in the Supporting Actor category for ‘Beasts Of No Nation’, taking on Benicio del Toro for ‘Sicario’, Christian Bale for ‘The Big Short’, Mark Ruffalo for ‘Spotlight’ and Mark Rylance for ‘Bridge of Spies’.
2016 could be the year that Sir Ridley Scott finally takes home a BAFTA as he is up for Best Director, but will have to beat Steven Spielberg for ‘Bridge of Spies’, Adam McKay for ‘The Big Short’, Todd Haynes for ‘Carol’ and Alejandro G Inarritu for ‘The Revenant’.
‘Bridge of Spies’ and ‘Carol’ led the nominations with nine nods each, followed by ‘The Revenant’ with eight.
The the ceremony will take place at London’s Royal Opera House on February 14.
