The US Office is reportedly coming back without Steve Carell

Amazing news

The American version of Ricky Gervais’s classic comedy The Office is reportedly getting rebooted.

TV Line reports that NBC is getting to sign a deal for the beloved workplace comedy to return for the 2018-2019 season.

The revival will still be set at Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton and feature a mix of old cast members and some newer faces.

The series has made stars out of Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, Mindy Kaling, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Craig Robinson and Ellie Kemper, among other.

Fans will likely be disappointed to hear that Carell’s character Michael Scott will not be involved in the new series.

“We often talk about The Office,” an executive told Deadline last month. “I’ve talked to Greg [Daniels] four times over the past few years. It’s always, ‘Maybe someday, but not now’. There is certainly an open invitation, but we don’t have anything happening right now. If he wants to do it, I would do it.”

The show’s run finished in 2013, with a total of 201 episodes of the series having been made so far.
