There isn’t anything The Rolling Stones haven’t done, apart from stage the largest exhibition of any artist ever – until now.

They’ve been around for 50 years but finally the rockers are putting their career-spanning archives on display for Exhibitionism.

Sir Mick Jagger said: “We’ve been thinking about it for quite a long time but wanted it to be just right and on a large scale just like planning our touring concert productions. I think right now, it’s an interesting time to do it.”

Six decades of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band’s famous stage-wear, rare audio tracks, guitars, cinematic presentations, artwork and personal diaries will be available for fans to see at London’s Saatchi Gallery.

Keith Richards said: “While this is about The Rolling Stones, it’s not necessarily just about the members of the band.

“It’s also about all the paraphernalia and technology associated with a band like us, as well as the instruments that have passed through our hands over the years that will make the exhibition really interesting.”

It took the band three years to collect more than 500 artefacts for the exhibition, which Jagger says the includes some “really silly things … and really I mean silly”.

David Bowie’s wonderful V&A exhibition, which is now touring worldwide, attracted 311,000 visitors and broke advance ticket sales in the UK. Exhibitionism is said to be ten times the size.

Luckily for JOE we’ve been invited to be one of the first to see it and will be reporting back…

Tickets go on sale on Friday, July 10 at 9am.
