People were delirious with excitement about the return of Game Of Thrones to our screens this week, so much so that it put a sizeable dent in Pornhub’s traffic.
The website, which has 60 million daily visits, revealed that there was a 4 per cent drop in people watching porn when the season six premiere aired on HBO.
That might not sound like much, but when you consider Pornhub’s popularity it accounts for hundreds of thousands of people who opted for Westeros instead of their usual Sunday night entertainment.
The graph below also shows that it took a good two hours for the site’s traffic to return to a solid level, probably due to the fact that people needed a long lie down after that bombshell at the end of the episode.
Pornhub also looked into Game Of Thrones-related searches on the site, which unsurprisingly soared on the day of the premiere. A second graph noted a whopping 370 per cent increase, with most users either looking for specific scenes from the show, or one of the porn parodies. The most searched performer by a mile was Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), followed by Margaery Tyrell and Shae.
