The film hails from the director of Man on Fire and True Romance.
Our TV movie pick for tonight (Saturday, 30 November) is The Fan, the 1996 sports-focused psychological thriller.
The film tells the story of a star baseball player (Wesley Snipes) who becomes the unhealthy focus of a down-on-his-luck salesman (Robert De Niro).
Directed with flashy style by the great Tony Scott (Man on Fire, True Romance), The Fan also features amongst its cast Benicio Del Toro, Ellen Barkin, Jack Black and John Leguizamo.
And though it was a commercial and critical disappointment upon release, the movie’s talented cast and crew and its entertaining sports twist on classic stalker thrillers like Fatal Attraction, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle and Single White Female makes it worth seeking out.
The Fan is airing on TV tonight on the channel Legend Xtra at 9pm.
The film is available to rent on Apple TV and Rakuten TV.
