Taylor Swift is in trouble with her fans after tickets for the singer’s upcoming Eras tour have gone on sale for tens of thousands of dollars.

After Ticketmaster messed up the pre-sale for the US leg of Taylor’s tour and cancelled the main sale entirely, tickets started appearing on resale sites for extortionate prices.

In one instance tickets were advertised on resale platforms for as much as $95,000 (£80,400).

Ticketmaster has said it faced unprecedented demand for tickets, but the US Justice Department is now investigating its parent company, Live Nation Entertainment, The New York Times reports.

Taylor has issued a statement apologising to fans and calling out Ticketmaster for the “excruciating” mishandling of her tickets.

While most Swifties are not holding the musician responsible, the tide is turning a little against Taylor.

One wrote on Twitter: “$95k for Taylor swift tickets??? She better put me in her dying will for that.”

A second complained: “I love Taylor swift but $95k is wild.”

While a third wrote: “Idk who needs to reads this but please don’t spend 95k on Taylor swift tickets she doesn’t care about you.”

But Taylor seems to be just as furious as her fans are, and issued a statement calling out Ticketmaster for messing up her tour ticket sales.

“There are a multitude of reasons why people had such a hard time trying to get tickets and I’m trying to figure out how this situation can be improved moving forward”, she wrote.

“I’m not going to make excuses for anyone because we asked them, multiple times, if they could handle this kind of demand and we were assured they could.

“It’s truly amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets but it really p**sed me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them.

“And to those who didn’t get tickets, all I can say is that my hope is to provide more opportunities for us to all get together and sing these songs.”
