In 2009, Steven Avery said brothers Charles and Earl Avery, as well as nephew Bobby Dassey and brother-in-law Scott Tadych, had motive and means to kill Teresa Halbach.
The findings allege Charles Avery had a history of assaults against women, explaining that Charles has reason to "frame Steven over money, a share of the family business, and over [Steven’s former girlfriend] Jodi Stachowski,".
According to the document, the same applies for Earl Avery, who had been charged with sexually assaulting his two daughters in 1995.
It says, Earl admitted to driving his golf cart past Halbach’s car where it was found on the salvage yard, and told police that he is willing to give "any information incriminating to Steven, saying that ‘even if my brother did something, I would tell.'"
This document wasn't admissible or pertinent for Steven's case in 2005, or featured in the series.
It shows no sign of slowing, and the case could very soon be in the hands of the White House.
A petition to pardon Avery has received 100,000 signatures, meaning it will be put in front of administration regardless of whether they have the authority to act upon the information.Explore more on these topics:
