Sky History axes The Chop after Nazi face tattoo row

Sky History have announced that no more episodes of reality contest show The Chop will be aired after broadcasting an episode in which of the contestants, Darren Lumsden, had what appeared to be a Nazi-related face tattoo. The show had already been pulled but it has now been axed indefinitely, Sky History confirmed in a statement posted on Twitter. "Following an independent investigation, AETN UK has made the decision not to broadcast any further episodes of The Chop on Sky HISTORY," the statement read. "A contestant's tattoos included symbols that could be connected to far-right ideologies and could cause offence; we sincerely apologise for that and we are sorry that our processes did not prompt further investigation at an earlier date. "The contestant continues to strenuously deny that he has, or ever, had far-right leanings. "We are thoroughly reviewing our internal processes following the investigation. The contestant has claimed that the tattoo is in memory of his father who supposedly died in the year 1988.
