Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are working together on a new horror-comedy

Paul Moore

How’s that for a slice of fried gold?

Since we first fell in love with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in Spaced, we believe that a certain passage of dialogue from Shaun of the Dead is absolutely perfect to describe their meteoric rise.

Barbara: My, how you’ve grown!

Ed: Yeah, you’d better believe it (said in the dirtiest and most sexually-charged way possible)

Well, after conquering Hollywood with the Cornetto Trilogy and teaching us all about spaceman balls in Paul, we’re delighted to say that the duo are backing working together in the comedy-horror genre.

Deadline have reported that both men have formed the film and TV production banner Stolen Picture. The duo will produce their first film, Slaughterhouse Rulez, which marks their return to the comedy-horror genre.

Frost has confirmed the news.

In Slaughterhouse Rulez is set in an elite boarding school – Welcome to Slaughterhouse – where boys and girls are groomed for power and greatness and they’re about to meet their match. The story’s hero, Don Wallace, is a wide-eyed new boy from a modest background forced to navigate a baffling new world of arcane rules and rituals, presided by sadistic sixth formers. Matters of status are aggressively enforced and conversation with school goddess Clemsie, are strictly forbidden.

But this ancient and ordered world is about to be shaken to its foundations – literally – when a controversial frack site on prize school woodland causes seismic tremors, a mysterious sinkhole and an unspeakable horror is unleashed. Soon a new pecking order will be established as pupils, teachers and the school matron become locked in a bloody battle for survival.

Their new production company will be based in the UK and they’re going to be working together on a variety of film and television projects.

Hell, if they can somehow manage to reproduce/create a scene that’s as iconic and hilarious as this, we’re absolutely sold!
