The star of one of the funniest TV shows ever made, Seinfeld, looks back on life before the role that changed his life.

Jerry Seinfeld had enjoyed a pretty decent career before Seinfeld first went on air in the late 1980s, but his role in a comedy about the life of a fictionalised version of himself saw his fame shoot to stratospheric levels. In a new Netflix special, Jerry Before Seinfeld will explore what life was like before the show, reminiscing about growing up in New York and doing stand-up comedy in the Big Apple before he got his big break. According to Deadline, it will be the first of two specials and is part of a deal Seinfeld signed with Netflix earlier this year that includes moving Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars series to Netflix from Crackle and Seinfeld contributing to comedy programming for the streaming service.
