The film will be set in 1960s Europe
Ryan Gosling is reportedly in talks to star alongside Margot Robbie in a planned
Ocean's Eleven prequel.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Robbie had been cast in the Warner Bros. prequel, which will be directed by Jay Roach.
According to
Puck News, Gosling is now also in talks to appear in the movie, which is set to have a bigger budget than any previous film in the
Ocean's franchise.
Gosling and Robbie are currently filming
Barbie, which is set to hit cinemas in July next year.
If Gosling does land a role in the
Ocean's prequel, he'll be the latest in a long list of Hollywood stars to have graced the franchise since it was rebooted in 2001 by Steven Soderbergh.
The first three films starred George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts.
The last film in the classic heist franchise was 2018's
Ocean's 8, which focused on an all-female crew of thieves led by Danny Ocean's cousin, but it had no direct connection to the previous films.
This had an ensemble cast of Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina.
Jay Roach's film will be a direct prequel to Clooney's series of films, and will be set in Europe in the 1960s.
Along with her role in the film, Robbie will also be a producer.
But before that, she'll be starring in
Barbie as the titular character. Gosling will be playing the role of Ken and the film has got quite the cast.
The likes of Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, and
Sex Education stars Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa are all appearing in the film as well.
