Rihanna reveals what turns her on… and it’s what a lot of other women want too

It’s an age old question, ‘what do women really want from a relationship?’

Some might think it’s a lengthy list of boxes to tick, but for Rihanna it comes down to a key ingredient – culture.

The singer, who is currently single and once suffered an abusive relationship with Chris Brown, admits she is “turned on” by men who can teach her something.

“I’m turned on by guys who are cultured,” she says. “That’ll keep me intrigued. They don’t have to have a single degree, but they should speak other languages or know things about other parts of the world or history or certain artists or musicians. I like to be taught.”

And the 27-year-old hitmaker, who has sold 54 million albums in 10 years, believes boys “need attention” and like to have their “ego stroked”.

She told T magazine: “Guys need attention. They need that nourishment, that little stroke of the ego that gets them by every now and then. I’ll give it to my family, I’ll give it to my work – but I will not give it to a man right now.”

Meanwhile, Rihanna previously insisted she doesn’t have one night stands because she doesn’t want to wake up the next morning feeling “empty and hollow”.

She said: “I haven’t been having sex or even really seeing anybody. I don’t want to wake up the next day feeling guilty.

“I mean I get horny, I’m human, I’m a woman, I want to have sex. But what am I going to do – just find the first random cute dude that I think is going to be a great ride for the night and then tomorrow I wake up feeling empty and hollow?”
