The third season of Reacher, one of Prime Video's best shows, has just been added to the streaming service.
Based on the Jack Reacher series of books by Lee Child, the show follows the title character (played by Alan Ritchson in a star-making turn) - a veteran military police investigator who now lives as a drifter, travelling across the US "carrying no phone and the barest of essentials".
Each season sees Reacher become embroiled in a new mystery, with the plot synopsis for season three reading:
"Based on Lee Child’s novel Persuader, in the third season of the action-packed series, Reacher hurtles into the dark heart of a vast criminal enterprise when trying to rescue an undercover DEA informant whose time is running out.
"There he finds a world of secrecy and violence—and confronts some unfinished business from his own past."
The third batch of episodes currently holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes - making it Reacher's best-reviewed season yet.
You can read samples of the glowing write-ups from critics below:
The Daily Beast: "Courtesy of Alan Ritchson’s stoic lead performance as the noble behemoth, it remains satisfyingly mean, macho, and—literally and figuratively—muscular."
Daily Telegraph (UK): "As Reacher shatters noses, snaps legs and delivers laconic one-liners, this is TV as muscular as its protagonist’s oak-like arms. It’s ultraviolent and unrepentantly macho but laced with enough wit to keep it the right side of silly."
JoBlo's Movie Network: "I am curious to see if Reacher can find a way to keep topping itself as seasons two and three each built on what came before them. Fans of the books and of this show are in for a great season that may be the best Reacher adaptation yet."
Screen Rant: "Reacher season three delivers another classic round of sharp twists, witty humour, palpable suspense and thrilling action with bigger threats and darker tones."
