Producers react to star quitting Mrs Brown’s Boys

Some people will be devastated, others less so

Laura Holland

Fans of Mrs Brown’s Boys were shocked to learn that Rory Cowan had quit the show, after 26 years.

The actor admitted that he hadn’t been happy for the last two years and felt it was time for him to leave the popular show. He also said that there was no issue between himself and co-star Brendan O’Carroll.

And now, Brendan has addressed his departure comparing it to when Ronaldo left Manchester United.

Speaking yesterday, he said:

“To all of us it feels like Ronaldo leaving Man Utd. But Ronaldo went on to amazing success which I know Rory will too.

I can’t even quantify the contribution Rory has made to our success and the well-being of me and my family, not just on screen or stage but way before that as a friend and a driving force in getting us here. He’s a legend.”

There has been no indication at this point about whether or not they will replace Rory’s character or omit him from future productions.
