An onstage reveal

As she showed off her baby bump live onstage, a pop star has revealed that she’s expecting her first baby with her bandmate.

Michelle Zauner of pop band Japanese Breakfast has revealed that she and her guitarist husband Peter Bradley were set to be parents.

Earlier this week, as she took to the stage at the 2026 Governors Ball Music Festival in New York, the singer, 37, proudly showed off her growing belly.

To reveal her pregnant tum, Michelle chose a striking green outfit for the performance that featured a cardigan left open.

She later spoke about what it was like to perform onstage while carrying a baby.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan backstage, she said “this is my third show with a baby bump, and it’s really empowering”.

“It’s so fun to remind myself that I am something beyond just a vessel for life, which is an amazing thing to be. But it’s also really fun to get to cart it around with me.”

Later, the Japanese Breakfast couple also shared their happy news with fans on the band’s Instagram page.

Posting a picture of Michelle performing at the festival, they wrote: “Jpreggie!”

Fans immediately rushed to share their joy, with one writing: “Wonderful news! So happy for you both!”. Another added: “You’re going to be the best mama!!!”

Bandmates Michelle, 37, and Peter, 39, thrilled fans when they tied the knot in 2014.

The singer previously opened up about how they manage to be a married couple while continuing to work together, adding that she and her husband have “well-balanced personalities”.

“I think it’s probably more challenging for him than it is for me because I can be just violently honest with him in this way that I maybe would be more careful with other people’s feelings about.”

Michelle added that because her husband is a guitar player in her band, she said that she is “very comfortable telling him things very honestly if I don’t like something that he’s doing”.
