The ‘best friends’ are often seen socialising together

This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield was “not aware” that the character reference he provided for a friend would be used after they pled guilty to a revenge porn offence.

The 60-year-old is reported to have offered Ben Perryman, 29, a reference as he faced charges of revenge porn at Liverpool Crown Court in June 2018.

Phillip was unaware what the reference would be used for, Phillip’s representatives tell JOE.

They say: “[He]  had no idea that the character reference at issue was to be used for this purpose”

Perryman posted a naked photograph of his victim on social media and he admitted disclosing a sexual photograph with intent to cause distress and received a suspended 12-week jail sentence and four-year restraining order from the man.

It is thought that his restraining order had recently expired, The Sun have reported.

Perryman also had to observe a curfew after admitting disclosing a sexual photograph.

Ben and Phillip can be seen enjoying some time together in July, as the pair enjoyed a picnic near Richmond Bridge with two other friends.

Ben shared a snap of himself and the Dancing On Ice host on Instagram. He wrote: “Such a lovely day with my best friends in the world.”

The most recent photo of the pair came on July 24, in the company of four other people during a summer barbecue.

Perryman wrote: “There’s nothing better than being with people you adore,” tagging Phillip’s Instagram account in the post alongside the other four friends.

Following it’s criminalisation in 2015, revenge porn – the sharing of private, sexual materials, either photos or videos, of another person, without their consent and with the purpose of causing embarrassment or distress – has been a big talking point on This Morning.

Phillip‘s £1million We Buy Any Car deal has come to an end after five years, it has been confirmed.

After We Buy Any Car removed the This Morning presenter’s images from their social media profile this week, some speculated that it might have something to do with ‘Queuegate’.

Phil and his co-presenter, Holly Willoughby, were accused of skipping the line to see the late Queen’s funeral ahead of her September 19 funeral. The controversy led to a petition urging ITV bosses to sack the pair from the daytime show and as of Saturday morning it has clocked up over 77,000 signatures.

We Buy Any Car has since confirmed Phil’s contract has come to an end, concluding a five-year deal. The company also made clear it had nothing to do with recent events.
