Peter Kay announces monthly residency at O2 in London as part of comeback tour

He will be the first artist ever to perform a monthly residency at the O2

Peter Kay has confirmed a monthly residency at the O2 in London that will last almost a year. The extra dates in the capital have been added to his nationwide arena tour that was announced on Sunday, his first live standup tour in 12 years.

But there had been some discontent from fans in London and the south about a lack of dates in their neck of the woods.

Those worries will now be somewhat eased following the announcement that Kay will have a monthly residency at the O2 in London. "Audiences in London have always been amongst the best in Britain, plus I think seeing the show could be part of a nice weekend away treat," Kay told the radio host.

“It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now. And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010."

The tour will kick off with dates in Manchester and Birmingham in December this year.

These will be followed by dates in Liverpool, Leeds, Belfast, Newcastle, Dublin, Cardiff, Glasgow and Sheffield throughout 2023. It is his first live standup tour since 2010, when he set the world record for the biggest selling run of all time, playing to more than 1.2 million people. Related links:
