Netflix viewers ‘disgusted’ by intimate pillow scene in erotic thriller series

One said they'd been left 'traumatised' by the scene
Netflix viewers have shared their disgust at an intimate scene in an erotic thriller series, Obsession.
The four-part series features surgeon William Farrow (played by Richard Armitage) who develops a seriously inappropriate infatuation over his son's new girlfriend Anna, played by Charlie Murphy.
The series features plenty of steamy scenes, but there has been one in particular that has left viewers feeling deeply uncomfortable.
In the scene, William ransacks a hotel room that Anna had stayed in a desperate attempt to find anything belonging to her.
Unable to satisfy himself by finding any of her belongings, he ends up grabbing a pillow that seemingly still has her scent on and… well… he doesn’t hold back.
The doctor is seen biting down, sniffing and even rubbing himself on the pillow in a scene that many say goes too far.
Posting on Twitter one person said: “The pillow in Obsession is disgusting.”
Another wrote: “The pillow scene in Netflix’s new series Obsession is beyond cringe!”
A third commented: “I watched that new Netflix show Obsession and honestly I regretted it so bad. Stupid plot, dumb ending, and I’m traumatised by the pillow scene.”
While someone else joked: “After watching Obsession on Netflix, I will now be bringing my own pillow to hotels.”
The star of the scene has recently revealed that the whole thing was basically improvised on the day.
In an interview with Metro, Armitage said: “It was really unexpected because it was written as quite a different scene.
“There was a tissue with her imprint of her lipstick on which we didn’t feel necessarily worked.
“I was really conscious that it shouldn’t be in any way comedic so we sort of left it quite open and it was a bit of an improvisation, actually.”
He went on: “Charlie had – without me knowing – sprayed her scent that she’d been wearing throughout the shoot into different parts of the bed and I just got the sense of it, and that’s where the scene just opened. But the recording it wasn’t too planned, actually.”
