The three-episode series will be released on the streaming service next month
Netflix has released a trailer for a new documentary that will focus on one of the biggest mysteries of the last ten years.
Titled MH370: The Plane That Disappeared, the series revolves around Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, the international passenger flight that disappeared on 8 March 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia to Beijing Capital International Airport in China.
239 passengers and crew were onboard the plane when it vanished from radar.
"The shocking disappearance of a commercial airliner made headlines, sparked riots, plunged the passengers’ next of kin into a nightmare, and generated a global search for answers that never came," Netflix's plot synopsis for the documentary reads.
Consisting of three episodes and set across seven countries, the series will reconstruct the night of the plane's disappearance.
By doing this, it promises to give viewers the chance to explore "three of the most contentious theories" about what happened.
The documentary will also feature interviews with family members, scientists, journalists and others around the world who after nine years refuse to give up hope of an explanation.
"It’s a story full of conspiracies and rabbit holes, shadowy figures and official silence – but most of all, it’s an opportunity to keep alive the memory of those who were lost in one of the great unsolved mysteries of our time and to keep pushing for answers," Netflix says.
MH370 will be released on the streaming service on 8 March. You can watch the trailer for the documentary below.
