Speaking at the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet, the actor said: "We'd all jump at a film, I'm sure. But I'm unaware at this moment there are any plans. We had a right old run at it."
Davies also jokingly remarked that: "Those four boys are nearly 50 now. We're the same age, they've caught up to my age. If they do decide to do something with it, it'll be a very different format, I guess. But seriously, the affection that people I meet still have for that show is incredible. The enduring love for it is really exciting."
The line about a different format is interesting because it ties into something that Joe Thomas (Simon) said in a previous interview. Speaking about a potential reunion, Thomas said: ‘I think that we are definitely too old now to do anything that is set in a sixth form. If it’s the case that you want to do a show about some sixth formers then obviously we can’t be involved in that, with the best will in the world. But we could do the originals ten years down the line, married with kids,’ he added. "I mean, we can do that now. I would jump at any chance to work with those guys again — in any context, really."
