There’s going to be a Monsters, Inc. TV show with John Goodman and Billy Crystal returning

Paul Moore

Mike and Sully are back

While we’re not entirely certain if euphoric screams of joy are enough to generate enough power to fuel a city – we prefer the classic approach of scaring the living shite out of kids! – there will be a lot of noise made by the fact that Mike and Sully are returning.

Oh yes, the boys (and Boo, we hope!) are back in town and they’re heading to the small screen.

Of course, we already got an excellent sequel in Monsters University but with Disney about to launch their new streaming service, Disney +, they’re bringing out the big guns to get those subscriptions.

Monsters at Work is set to debut in 2020 on Disney+ according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In terms of a plot, the show will pick up six months after the original movie with the power plant at its centre now harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis.

The series follows Tylor Tuskmon (Ben Feldman), an eager and talented mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team who dreams of working on the Laugh Floor alongside Mike and Sulley.

It’s not Monster, Inc. though without the original gang and we’re delighted to say that John Goodman (Sulley) Billy Crystal (Mike Wazowski), John Ratzenberger (Yeti), Jennifer Tilly (Celia) and Bob Peterson (Roz) will all be featuring.

The show will also feature the voices of Ben Feldman (Superstore), Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Henry Winkler (Barry), Lucas Neff (Raising Hope), Alanna Ubach (Coco), Stephen Stanton (Star Wars Resistance) and Aisha Tyler (Archer).

The show airs in 2020 and it’s bound to be a big draw for any parents that might fancy the Disney + subscription.
