Monica and Chandler from Friends moved into the Home Alone house – here’s proof

Once you notice it.

Now wait, hear us out on this one.

It seems like the unlikeliest of cinematic crossovers. But some viewers have spotted evidence that in the last series of Friends Monica and Chandler actually moved into the McCallisters house from Home Alone.

First off, let’s address the elephant in the room.

When Monica and Chandler finally decided to move out of their iconic NYC flat, they plumped for the conventional mid-life option – a pad in the suburbs. The suburbs of New York state in this case.

And the McCallisters’ spacious mansion was, as we all know, in Chicago. So how could this be possible?

Yet this seemingly wild theory starts to gain traction when you look out of the windows of Monica and Chandler’s new home.

The observant folks at 22 Vision have noticed that you can see the same street scene as from the McCallisters’.

Not immediately clear? Well take a closer look at these stills.

First, here’s a shot of the Murphy’s house in Home Alone, which was just across from the McCallisters. It was the first home hit by the wet bandits and the one where Harry and Marv eventually catch with Kevin.

Clocked the distinctive garage in the bottom right hand corner? Good. Now take a look at this close up out of the window of the new chez Geller-Bing.

A hell of a coincidence, huh? And there are more details that can be seen out of the Friends couple’s window that match with the street from Home Alone. You can see it all in the video below.

Now there is a theory how this happened and it’s that the producers of Friends used the stock footage from Home Alone for the street scene outside Monica and Chandler’s new home.

Seemingly thinking that the almost decade and a half between the 1990 film and the episode, which aired in 2004, would mean no one would notice.

Well it looks like someone did.
