"Sold."

Macaulay Culkin has said he is "sold" on the idea of digitally removing Donald Trump from Home Alone 2, and replacing him with a grown-up version of himself.

Following the violent attack on the Capitol by his supporters in 2021, Twitter user @Rachellobaugh tweeted a suggestion: "petition to digitally replace Trump in Home Alone 2 with 40-year-old Macaulay Culkin."

Three days later, Culkin replied to the tweet, simply saying "sold."

Trump's cameo in Home Alone 2 has been turned into many a meme in recent years, with one YouTube commenter saying it is "the only time Trump guides someone towards the left."

The director of Home Alone 2 previously told Business Insider that Trump's inclusion in the movie was a result of them filming in one of Trump's hotels.

"Like most locations in New York City, you just pay a fee and you are allowed to shoot in that location," Columbus explained to Business Insider in 2020.

"We approached The Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time, because we wanted to shoot in the lobby. We couldn’t rebuild The Plaza on a soundstage.

"Trump said OK. We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie.’"
