Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard apologises for ‘offensive’ stand up routine

Many fans had previously called his jokes “toxic” and “gross”

Love Island star Curtis Pritchard has apologised for some of the jokes he made during Channel 4’s Stand Up and Deliver.

Pritchard appeared on the Stand Up To Cancer special a few weeks ago.

The show’s premise sees celebrities try their hand at stand up comedy in order to raise some much-needed funds for the cancer charity.

Curtis was coached by Loose Women panelist Judi Love who attempted to offer some guidance on the Love Island star’s routine.

However, Pritchard’s comedy didn’t strike a chord with the audience. In fact, he was booed and heckled off the stage.

During his routine, Curtis joked about his time on Love Island and his relationship with ex-girlfriend Maura Higgins.

“Smooth whiskey is trusting the flavour will never cheat on you,” he said. “Unlike my ex-girlfriend.”

Later in the set, Curtis compared the women of Casa Amor to dogs by suggesting that they were “marking their territory.”

At the time, fans called out Curtis for his comments, with many labelling them toxic.

Pritchard has since apologised for these remarks.

“I just want to apologise because I know that everyone that listens to this, you always support me and you give me the utmost respect and I thank you so much for that,” he said on the AJ vs Curtis podcast. “But I just want to apologise to anybody that I have offended.”

He added that some of the jokes “went too far”, and were “completely off track”.

“I didn’t realise it at the time, but I realise it now,” he added. “I just want to apologise to everybody and anybody that I have offended.”

Curtis went on to say that his jokes were not “intentional”. He added that he felt fortunate to take part in a “great show”.
