Love Island producers make a statement about the show’s editing

As much as many of us love Love Island, or love to hate Love Island, we're very aware that all is not as it seems. Producers have jobs for a reason and there is a lot of things that don't actually make it to the final TV cut. However, we appreciate the drama all the same, and watch it regardless. There has been a lot of controversy this season, as a lot of islanders who left the villa are coming out to say that things have been twisted, edited or cut out altogether. But a spokesperson for Love Island told Digital Spy that the relationships are largely up to the contestants themselves and they just make the final cut to represent what happens over a 24-hour period.

The spokesperson said: “The opinions they have, decisions they make and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves.

“It is always our intention to produce a show that is a fair and accurate representation of life in the villa.”

It seems like there's going to be a lot of upset in the villa tonight, as people are changing their minds about who they want to be with. Who would have thought?
