Line of Duty fans will definitely be watching BBC’s new crime thriller

Paul Moore

If you love murder mysteries, this could be your next addiction.

Carey Mulligan is the latest Hollywood star to turn their talents towards the small screen and her new crime thriller, Collateral, is bound to please anyone that loves murder mysteries because there’s some excellent pedigree behind this.

The Oscar-nominated actress stars in the new four-part crime drama that’s written by fellow Oscar nominee David Hare – he penned The Reader and The Hours.

Mulligan heads the star-studded cast as a detective inspector, investigating a murder and conspiracy in London. The events kick-off after the fatal shooting of a pizza delivery man in London, identified as a Syrian immigrant. To some, it seems like a random act of violence but Mulligan’s DI Kip Glaspie is unconvinced. From that moment on, events start to spiral out of control as a conspiracy unfolds that encompasses the highest levels of government.

It turns out that the victim’s last customer (Billie Piper) just happens to be the troubled ex-wife of a prominent politician (John Simm).

Collateral starts on BBC2 on Monday at 9pm.

Take a look.
