“There is only one witch and we all know who that is,” said Liam Gallagher

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has defended his honour in the wake of allegations of domestic abuse.

On Friday, The Sun accused Gallagher of grabbing his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther by the throat during an argument in a London nightclub, calling her “a fucking witch” in the process.

The report alleges that Gallagher – described as “raging” in the piece – “totally lost it” and subsequently shoved Gwyther before being escorted out of the venue by a security guard.

In response to the story, Gwyther posted on Instagram, noting that “The Sun have surpassed themselves yet again” while labelling the accusation “a pack of lies”.

“Shame on them and on all who have asked for Liam’s comment rather than mine,” wrote Gwyther on Saturday.

“Caring individuals all of them I’m sure. Pack of lies as per usual.”

Gwyther went on to slam the “lazy sexist nonsense” purported by The Sun and noted her plans to sue the publication.

Gallagher later used social media to break his silence regarding the alleged incident, taking to Twitter to issue a short, snappy statement.

“Firstly I have never put my hands on any woman in a vicious manner,” he wrote.

“Secondly there is only one witch and we all know who that is,” remarked Gallagher before finishing off with his customary signature.
