He's apparently a massive fan

Call Of Duty fans: you’ve got Conor McGregor, you’ve Jon Sn…Kit Harington, and you can now add British F1 Champion Lewis Hamilton to the list of megastars lending their name to Infinite Warfare.

Why? We have absolutely no idea, but why would you say no if you were in his shoes?

The 31-year-old team Mercedes driver appears be playing the role of some kind of engineer on the giant spaceship Retribution, and is reportedly set to appear in six scenes in the game.

Hamilton made the announcement via his official Twitter account on Tuesday night.

Speaking about his part in the world’s most popular shooter series, Hamilton said:

“I’ve been a Call of Duty fan for long time, so it’s an absolute honour to be part of this game and the franchise. The experience of being put into the game – from the facial scanning process to working with the team on the performance capture stage and just being able to meet the developers at the studio to get a glimpse at all the hard work that goes into the game – this has been an incredible experience.”

It sounds like the F1 superstar’s gaming tastes extend beyond the odd COD session. In an interview with French station M6, which was picked up by Motorsport, Hamilton was keen to give a shout out to a certain mustachioed plumber.

“I grew up with Super Mario, where the graphics were outdated at the time,” he said. “It’s crazy to see how far it [computer games] went – the realisation is unbelievable.

“I loved it, it was a great experience, I am incredibly honoured to be part of this game. I’ve been a fan for years.”

You can see Lewis Hamilton in Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare when it launches on November 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
