Lewis Hamilton opens up about life and dating – he’s loving the single life

Lewis Hamilton is usually tight-lipped about his private life but now he's single, he's happy for the world to know he's on the market.

The F1 champ, who split from his long-time girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger following a seven-year romance announced he's keen to make the most of the solo life and focus on his career. He explained: "It's different. I've been in two relationships in my life, I was 18 to 22 and 23 to 30 and so I missed the single life that all my friends had. "Now I've just been throwing myself at work, I've worked harder than ever this year, I've travelled like crazy, I've experienced everything I wanted to experience." The sportsman has been romantically linked to Kendall Jenner and Rihanna in recent months - naturally he's having fun. He added: "I'm enjoying it, it's really good fun, it's a fun period of time in my life." Meanwhile, Lewis - who crashed his car last month in Monaco following a night out - is keen to socialise more next year as he believes it benefits his performance on the track. Speaking on the Jonathan Ross Show, he said: "Up until this year, I sacrificed everything so I never ever really went out. Last year I think I might have gone out three times, it's probably a bit too extreme. "I think this year I don't have any regrets about anything that happened this year and things I didn't do, I just tried to make sure I juggled everything... Not surprisingly I drove better than ever so I'm going to keep going out!"
