It was less than a week ago that the Glaswegian star revealed he has Tourette's syndrome.
Opening up about his condition on Instagram Live, he said the diagnosis had come as a relief, as he thought he had "some horrible degenerative disease".
Capaldi assured fans it was "not a big deal" but that some days are "more painful than others".
"It looks a lot worse than it is," he added.
Capaldi has been given botox injections to stop twitching in his shoulder, but chose to open up about his diagnosis as he "didn’t want people to think I was taking cocaine or something".
"The worst thing about it is when I'm excited, I get it," he said, "When I'm stressed, I get it."
"When they told me 'we think you've got Tourette's', I was like 'you know what, that makes so much sense,'" he added.
