The duo had to be separated in the arena

KSI and former England footballer Wayne Bridge have agreed to face each other in a celebrity boxing bout later this year.

The fight was announced during a Misfits boxing event in Manchester on Saturday, where the pair had to be separated by security after KSI taunted the former footballer with an X-rated chant.

The bout will take place on March 29, with the venue yet to be confirmed.

Bridge played for Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City and made 36 appearances for England, before retiring in 2014.

During the Misfits event on Saturday, which saw English MMA star Darren Till take on fellow MMA fighter Anthony Taylor in the main event, KSI stepped into the ring and grabbed the microphone.

As he spoke to the crowd, Bridge then made his way into the ring and went face-to-face with the YouTuber.

KSI then asked the former Chelsea star: “Aren’t you the guy who let John Terry smash your ex?”

When Bridge asked the social media star if “you want to go there straight away do you,” KSI started chanting: “Vanessa, woah, Vanessa, woah, she jumped on Terry’s d***, made big boy feel sick.”

The pair verbally agreed to a fight, before KSI then shoved Bridge. Although the former Premier League defender initially didn’t respond, he couldn’t help but try and get one back at the 31-year-old, with the two having to be separated by security in the ring.

Bridge does have some experience with boxing. Back in 2018 he fought TV star Spencer Matthews in a charity bout for Sport Relief.

Meanwhile, KSI has taken part in six fights, with his most recent bout coming against Tommy Fury in October 2023.

It is unclear which outfit will oversee the fight between KSI and Bridge as Misfits have stopped working with the Professional Boxing Association, the body which oversaw KSI’s fight with Fury.
